What is the typical way of purchasing your product?

You download and install E2db Server
You click the 'request evaluation license' link from the within the software
You are taken to our license request web page where you fill out your details
Your evaluation license is emailed to you
You decide to purchase a full license
You click on the "purchase full license" link from within the software
You are taken to our license request and purchase web page
You can print out an invoice if needed
You make your payment by credit card, cheque/PO or bank transfer
You are sent a confirmation of payment from our secure payment provider, SECpay.
Your full license and recipt of payment are sent to you via email

What is the difference between Personal and Business Editions of E2db Server?

The Personal edition allows you to process web form responses from only one web form (one project).
The Business edition allows you to process web form responses from many web forms and post information to many databases (unlimited projects).

Where can I download E2db Server Business edition?

There is only one download for E2db Server. The mode, Personal or Business, is selected from within the "Options" menu. All licenses, both evaluation and full, are valid for use with either Personal or Business editions of E2db Server.

Can I request an evaluation license that will work with E2db Server in Business Edition mode?

To evaluate the Business edition you must first put the software into Business edition 'mode' before requesting an evaluation license. To do this open E2db Server and close the Licenses screen by clicking 'close window' X icon in the top right of the screen. The Play button will be disabled since you do not have a valid license installed yet. Click "Options" in the "Server" menu and change the "Mode" to "Business". Click OK and close E2db Server. Re-open E2db Server and proceed as normal with requesting an evaluation license by following the on screen instructions.

Can I extend my evaluation period?

Usually we do not extend an evaluation period, however you may ask and at our discretion we may extend your evaluation period.

Can you send me an invoice?

When you click "purchase full license" link from within the software you will be taken to the full license request and payment web pages where you can also print out an invoice before making a payment.

Why has my license has stopped working?

If you are using a version of E2db server which is newer than the one you purchased your license for. For example you installed version 1 and purchased a license. Later you installed version 2. If this is the case you either need to re-install version 1 or purchase an upgrade.

If you have recently changed/upgraded your computers hardware it may cause your license to become invalid. This is because license are valid for one computer and a computer is defined and identified by its hardware. If this should occur we can send you a new license for a nominal cost of £20, please contact us. We lock our licenses to a particular hardware configuration in order to prevent piracy and abuse of our licensing system.

What kind of secuirty do you have in place for making online payments?

We take security very seriously. This is why we use SECpay to process your credit/debit card details. SECPay are approved by Barcleys Merchant Services and other leading UK Banks for the processing and clearing of Credit and Debit card transactions. Only the highest standards of security are used to ensure that your details are safe and secure and cannot be misued.

SECpay use industry standard 128 bit encryption to transmit your credit card details over the internet. This is considered by many, to be safer than giving credit card details over the phone/fax. You know you are on a secure web page because the web page address starts with https:// not http://. The 's' stands for secure. There will also be a padlock symbol in the bottom right of your browser indicating that the information is being transmitted over a secure connection.

How do I know that SECpay are who they say they are, and not just securely accepting my details for fraudulant purposes?

On the secure web page there is a Thawte certificate. When you click the certificate a pop-up will display the owner of the certificate and website. Thawte are a worldwide recognised supplier of certificates.
